Workshop (60 minutes, 12:00-1:00 pm)
Introduction to Improv for Kids and Families
Join Anthony Francis, the founder of Improv U and an experienced professional improviser and teacher, for an engaging and interactive workshop designed to introduce kids to the exciting world of improv comedy. With a focus on fun games and activities, this workshop will help participants develop their creativity, teamwork, and quick thinking skills while having a blast.
During this workshop, Anthony will guide participants through a series of dynamic exercises specifically tailored to their age group (6 to 13 years old, see below for more info). Through a mix of group games and individual activities, kids will learn the fundamental principles of improvisation in a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment. We encourage their parents and family members to join the fun with them!
This workshop guarantees a lot of laughter as participants engage in hilarious games and scenes. Your kids will experience the joy of creating something funny together and leave with smiles on their faces.
Family-Friendly Improv Performance (75 minutes, 1:15-2:30 pm)
Join some of our Countdown Improv Festival superstar performers as they bring improv games, stories, and songs to life, completely made up on the spot, and inspired by YOUR suggestions! Kids who participated in the workshop are welcome and encouraged to come up and perform with our experienced professional improvisers. (Though if they are shy and just want to watch, that’s great, too!)
