Solovela is an improvised SOLO telenoVELA (Spanish TV soap opera) where Diane Jorge interviews an audience member and creates an entire telenovela based on their life, on-the-spot. She plays all the characters in a never-seen and never-to-be-seen-again telenovela, complete with props, music, and all forms of telenovela melodrama. The show is in English, with some Spanish sprinkled in, but the laughs are universal!

Bio
Diane Jorge is from Miami, Florida, where she was raised by Cuban parents and yes, telenovelas. That explains the melodrama. She has been a comedic performer in South Florida for 15 years, performing improv and sketch as a part of the cast at Just the Funny Theater and the Front Yard Theatre Collective. She also performs stand-up and does storytelling, where she recently won The Moth StorySLAM in Miami. She also performs her one-person show, Mercado de la Fortuna, where she improvised predictions and fortunes dressed as famed astrologer Walter Mercado. Clearly, relaxing is not Diane’s strong suit. However, playing all the characters in an improvised telenovela that will never be seen again and inspired by an audience member is totally her thing. The show is bilingual, but the laughs are universal – don’t miss Solovela! (And maybe follow her on social media @dianeisloud on all platforms.)
